Honda: The Experiment
What do you get if you take hundreds and hundreds of post-it notes, endless combinations, the pain of a really difficult maths problem and HTML 5? The Experiment Game. A really fun physics-based game played in HTML5. Perhaps one of the most challenging projects we've ever worked on. Creativity Online made it their pick of the day, Creative Review, Campaign Brief and Shots did some really nice pieces and FWA even named it their site of the month for November which was rather lovely. A blog called The Journal of Awesome' wrote about it. No, we didn't previously know who they were either, but according to their by-line, they are 'The Most Trusted Authority on Awesome', so that's good enough for us.
Winner: Cannes, FWA Site of the Month, BestAds, AICP (in MOMA’s permanent collection)
Honda: Off the Grid
This installment of our interactive Honda work was hands down, the best shoot of our lives. We took a 360º camera to some of the world's most amazing environments to create an experience inspired by Street View. We went off the edge of a cliff in Marble Canyon, through an underwater museum in the waters of Cancun, through one of the world's most amazing slot canyons, through a Neon museum in Vegas, into a previously unexplored ice cave in Alaska (still pinching myself on that one), and into the middle of a frozen lake on a glacier (a hairy experience to say the least).
It got some lovely responses, including being named best interactive ad of the week on bestadsontv.com. Head judge Andy Fleming (ECD of M&C Sydney) wrote... "With the sleepy voice of Garrison Keillor as a guide, you explore unusual locations with full 360 degree movement. It nails the concept of exploration whilst sucking about twenty minutes out of your day."
Honda: Follow Happy
When Honda engineers were going about designing the new Civic's interior, they met with owners of the previous model. One such owner had a dog who happily hung out in the back of his Civic, thanks to the very clever Magic Seats (which have hundreds of foldy combinations, some of which are perfect for giving a dog a space of his own.)We thought the fact a happy dog influenced the complete interior design of a new car was pretty sweet. So we made an interactive film about it.When you blow on your mic, Woody's jowls go crazy. It's quite a bit of fun, although you may want to clean your own slobber off your laptop screen afterwards
Here's the experience in action..
